GETTING BACK ON MY FEET — HOW I FELL IN LOVE WITH DESIGN AGAIN
After months of being unsatisfied with my progress as a designer, I began to lose the passion I had held extremely dear. For years, I spent countless hours pouring my heart into growing in my craft and was determined to constantly move forward — I kept working until I realized I wasn’t enjoying myself anymore. I felt like I was losing a part of myself, a part that I was so proud of. In attempts to rekindle my love, I decided to design something for myself for a change. This project combines graphic design and digital art; two areas of design that I felt I was exhausted in.
STARTING FRESH — THE DESIGN PHASE
As I felt my passion fading day by day, I thought it’d be cool to represent the passing of time through my art. Each drawing represents a different time of day: morning, afternoon, evening, and night. Each spread shows how I slowly start to feel better with the passage of time.
A MUCH NEEDED BREAK — TAKEAWAYS
It felt so free to relax and draw and design for myself; a feeling I hadn’t felt for a while. I was so focused on moving forward that I had forgotten why I started my creative journey, because it made me feel proud. I think I still have much to improve on as a creative but I’m glad I took the time to self-reflect and produce something for myself.
